Clio 200 Cup Vs Ford Focus RS 500
RenaultSport’s Clio 200 Cup put up against the powerhouse of Ford’s stable – the Focus RS 500.
Autocar have just published a cool review of the Clio 200 Cup Vs the Ford Focus RS500 – its more to do with the Focus RS being twice the price of the Clio than the performance – but it is worth a watch.
Enjoy,

RenaultSport Megane 225/230 YozzaSport Exhaust
The long awaited YozzaSport Exhaust for the RenaultSport Megane 225/230 will be available from April 12th 2009.

RenaultSport Megane RS Exhaust From YozzaSport
Folks, I am delighted to announce that we are now settled on a lovely design and fabulous performing system for the Megane 225/230.
Andy Martin‘s R26 has for the last 4 months been blasting around circuits up and the UK sporting our new system, and we are just about to take it to be patterned over the coming weeks.
A Few Details on the new Megane RS Exhaust from YozzaSport
The YozzaSport Megane RS system is a 2.5″ mandrel bend stainless steel system. YozzaSport working with our long time exhaust partners – JP Exhausts, have designed a high performance road exhaust system that is compliant with every race circuit in the UK – mainly due to the now common 92db limits that are being enforced at circuits. The system is available as a cat-back system and we are pleased to say that should you wish to use a de-cat pipe – we are also including this in our options list.
It will be marketed as the YozzaSport Megane RS Sports Exhaust System
After spending quite a lot of time considering trying to fit a 3″ stainless system to the Megane RS – we decided that most people would not be prepared to modify the heat shielding, and possibly tolerate the bumping of the exhaust on the exhaust tunnel that would be caused by the expansion of the system when it was hot.

Future Megane 225/230/R26-R Exhaust Developments
We have intentions to develop a much smaller backbox for Megane RS owners who want to have a bit of extra noise as well as the performance – this may be ready by the summer – but, we will see.

RenaultSport Announce 2010 Trackdays
Renault has an award-winning, enviable reputation for building the best hot hatches with the new Mégane Renaultsport 250, Clio Renaultsport 200 and Twingo Renaultsport 133. Now owners can explore the limits of their track-bred pocket rockets in safety with Renaultsport’s exclusive 2010 trackday calendar.
The UK accounts for more sales of the French marque’s high-performance Renaultsport models than anywhere else in the world. As a result, the popular Renaultsport trackdays have been running since 2002 in the UK. This year’s trackday calendar, heavily subsidised by Renault, takes in two of the country’s best-known race circuits – Silverstone and Oulton Park, plus there’s the chance to join Renaultsport’s annual trackday foray to foreign shores with a trip to the world-famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium or, for the more time-pressed thrill-seeker, an evening track session at Bedford Autodrome.
Improving driver ability is a crucial element of Renaultsport track days and every circuit will have experienced and trained instructors on hand offering personalised tips to improve car control.
As part of the programme, drivers have the chance to take the wheel of the latest high performance Renaultsport exotica for a few grin-inducing laps with the Twingo Renaultsport 133 Cup, the Clio Renaultsport 200 Cup or the new Mégane Renaultsport 250 Cup. They will also enjoy a “hot” lap in the car from the passenger seat with a qualified instructor at the wheel.
Speaking about the popularity of the trackdays, Phil York, Renault’s Marketing Director said, “Renaultsport trackdays are the ideal way of letting our customers share our passion for Renaultsport, as well as giving them the opportunity to realise the full potential of their cars in a safe and laid-back atmosphere. The tuition provides invaluable experience to improving skill levels.”
Full details for each event, including track, date and pricing are listed below:
31st March – Silverstone
25th May – Spa Francorchamps
11th June – Bedford Autodrome
7th July – Oulton Park
4th August – Silverstone
Renault Introduces Twingo Gordini RenaultSport
The Gordini name returns with the introduction of the Twingo Gordini Renaultsport. This latest version of Renault’s pocket rocket takes a fresh stance on the design cues long-associated with the Gordini world.
Just as before, the combination of French blue, white racing stripes and stylish, quilted leather upholstery forms an integral part of the package -but with a distinctly modern touch.
The latest Renault hot hatch will appeal to customers looking for a distinctive car with an assertive character, exuding an unmistakably French feel – a fitting tribute to everything for which the Gordini signature stands.
Twingo Gordini Renaultsport is premiered until 10 January 2010, at the Atelier Renault on the Champs-Elysées, in Paris, as part of the prestigious showroom’s ‘Christmas in Blue’ exhibition. It will go on sale across Europe from March 2010.
GORDINI ‘LOOK’ SALUTES RICH HERITAGE
Twingo Gordini Renaultsport features a gleaming Malta Blue metallic finish, plus two white racing stripes, in keeping with tradition. The front and rear bumpers are enhanced by gloss black centre sections, while the fog lamp surrounds, exterior door mirror housings and rear tailgate spoiler are all picked out in a contrasting white finish.
‘Gordini Series’ badging either side refers back to the 1960’s heyday of the Gordini Cup in France when the qualifying heats of the different race meetings were known as séries.
This exclusive exterior styling package is rounded off by 17-inch alloy wheels with a polished face and a choice of the inner rim finished in either blue or black.
The same Gordini spirit continues inside thanks to:
- Renaultsport seats with extra lateral support, with blue and black Gordini-embossed leather upholstery
- blue leather door panel inserts
- blue and black leather-covered steering wheel with two white stripes to indicate the centre point
- blue gearlever gaiter and Gordini-badged gearlever knob
- blue rev-counter with white surround
- leather-trimmed dashboard cowl
TWINGO GORDINI RENAULTSPORT: BACKED BY RENAULT SPORT TECHNOLOGIES
To ensure that it befits Gordini’s glorious motor sport heritage, the latest addition to the Twingo range is based on the same performance/equipment package as the Renaultsport 133 version:
- ‘Sport’ chassis with 17-inch wheels for outstanding road-holding that is equally suited to everyday motoring
- a feisty, responsive 1.6-litre 133hp petrol engine with a distinctive,
specially-tuned exhaust note under acceleration
- precise, incisive steering for even greater fun at the wheel
- powerful, durable braking performance

GORDINI: RENAULT’S SPORTING HERITAGE
Amédée Gordini, who developed almost 200,000 Renault vehicles over a 20-year period, achieved some of the brand’s greatest sporting achievements.
Born in 1899, within a year of Louis Renault building his very first vehicle, Amédée Gordini was fascinated by automobiles and motor racing from a very young age. After working as a racing mechanic in his teens, Gordini developed his own sports racing and Grand Prix cars before being engaged by Renault in the mid-1950s. The Renault 8 Gordini with its bright blue paintwork and twin white stripes was one of his most successful and iconic creations, finishing 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th in the 1964 Tour of Corsica rally. In 1966, the 1300cc version heralded the Gordini Cup one-make race series, the blueprint for all single-make motorsport championships.
Prices will be announced nearer the time of the launch in the UK in March.
