We have recieved loads of requests from people asking about information on the Mintex M1144 for the RenaultSport Clio 172 and 182.
Unfortunately, they are not available for the Clio 172/182, however they are available for the 1.8 16v and williams.

M1144 Information
The Mintex 1144 is essentially a fast road brake pad. You should be able in almost all circumstances to just drive on the pad, with no warming up period required. If you wish to purchase mintex M1144, please contact us with you car details, and we will come back to you with a price. Obviously, dependent on stock this could take a few hours.

Clio 172 Stealth Exhaust
A stealth exhaust system is one that is hidden behind the 172 rear bumper – in much the same fashion as the original exhaust system. The YozzaSport 172 exhaust system is intended to be a replacement system to the standard 172 exhaust. This is due to the common failure of the standard system. We wanted to offer our customers the high quality of our products, but without the performance and noise increases that often come with them.

A race system is often a 2.5″ or 2.25″ system without any large silencers in the centre pipe. YozzaSport 172 race systems have a small bullet silencer in the centre section to remove some levels of boom from the system. Our race systems are re-packable, and often are run with a Clio 182 Exhaust manifold and join pipe.

A sport exhaust system normally will offer some performance gains, but without the noise that is associated with a full blown race system. To offer an alternative or an option to YozzaSport 172 Exhaust customers, we have developed both a 2.5″ Race Derived system, and a 2.25″ Road intended system.

Removing the Catalytic Convertor on a Clio 172

One of the first points is the Catalytic convertor. If you remove the Cat on a standard 172 you will find that the noise will increase considerably. It is however the most cost effective modification that you can make to the car.

You will gain between 4-5 BHP normally with just a decat. We have tested both 2.25″ and 2.5″ pipes and find that 2.5″ decats are more effective in producing more power, however, the difference between these two diameters can be about 1db in terms of outputted noise.

How can I get the most power out of my Clio 172 Exhaust System?

YozzaSport actually designed our own race system to be as close to the Supersprint system as we could possibly get – the two systems can be see side by side below:

At a couple of kilos more, our YozzaSport system was designed to produce as much power as possible, but still retaining the long life and high quality that people should expect. We tested a number of different bore pipes – 2.25″ & 2.75″ and they basically made no difference to the output power nor torque, so we stuck with the middle ground to keep the systems within noise limits.



The perfect exhaust system on a 172 should be:
Stealth Exhausts

Stealth Exhausts are normally not designed to be specifically a sports system, as they are normally intended to replace the standard system when it fails. Our YozzaSport Stealth system was always intended to be a replacement for the OEM system. We used the same centre section as our sports systems to make the backboxes interchangeable for the customers who wanted to fit the race systems when they were on track.
